Celebrating 40 Years of China-UAE Friendship: Building Bridges to the Future

Jingdezhen Chinaware proudly participated in the “Building Bridges to the Future” event, commemorating 40 years of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE. The grand celebration took place in Abu Dhabi on November 1, attended by esteemed guests including Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yiming, UAE Culture Minister Salim, State Minister Sayeh, and Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism Chairman Mubarak. Their presence marked a powerful symbol of the enduring friendship and collaboration between the two nations.

The event was masterfully organized along a timeline showcasing “Past,” “Present,” and “Future”, highlighting the historical journey of China-UAE relations. It celebrated 40 years of friendship through political, economic, technological, cultural, tourism, and educational exchanges. The exhibition vividly brought to life the flourishing partnership between the two countries.

Jingdezhen Chinaware contributed to the cultural showcase, emphasizing the artistic and historical significance of Chinese ceramics. Our exhibition captured the elegance and craftsmanship of Chinese porcelain, resonating with both Chinese and international audiences.

Curated under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in the UAE, and supported by the UAE Chinese Cultural Center, the event presented an extraordinary blend of Chinese and Arab cultural experiences. Chinese Shaolin Kung Fu, Chengdu Drum Music, Hunan Fan Painting, Bamboo Weaving, Calligraphy, Guzheng (Chinese Zither), and Ceramics were displayed alongside Arab Ayala Dance, Oud Music, Sadu Weaving, and Arabic Calligraphy. This artistic dialogue allowed visitors to immerse themselves in a harmonious blend of two ancient cultures.

Guests also indulged in a culinary journey with Chinese delicacies such as Xiaolongbao (Soup Dumplings), Dandan Noodles, Pies, and Dumplings, alongside Arabian delights like Arabic Coffee, Dates, and Fried Sweet Balls. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with the sounds of cultural exchange, laughter, and celebration.

The event’s “Future” section was a showstopper. Visitors were invited to walk through a beautifully adorned corridor of Chinese Lanterns, where they shared their hopes for the future of China-UAE relations. Wishes written on Red Silk Ribbons in Chinese, Arabic, and English were tied to a giant Wishing Lantern, symbolizing unity and a shared vision for the next “Beautiful 40 Years.”

The celebration continues until November 3, with a special Student Session on November 4, ensuring that the next generation is inspired by this legacy of friendship.
