Jingdezhen Ceramics Captivates the World: Spreading Chinese Culture with Pride!

On February 3, 2024, as the Year of the Dragon approaches, the "Warmly Welcoming Spring · Happy Chinese New Year" Grand Parade kicked off in Burj Khalifa Park, Dubai. This spectacular event, a highlight of Dubai’s Chinese New Year celebrations, was attended by Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yiming, Consul General in Dubai Li Xuhang, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Abdulla Bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Dubai Office Director of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Prince Maktoum, and CEO of Dubai Economy and Tourism Kazim. The event saw widespread participation from the Chinese expatriate community in the UAE.

Spanning four days, this grand festival featured cultural performances, special showcases, traditional arts and high-tech exhibitions, culinary delights, and interactive games. It marked the beginning of a year-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of China-UAE diplomatic relations.

The parade was a vibrant spectacle of Chinese tradition, filled with the booming sound of drums, majestic dragon and lion dances, and the rhythmic energy of traditional folk performances. Enthusiastic spectators cheered, capturing unforgettable moments on their phones, as the atmosphere transformed into a sea of celebration. The deep cultural meaning and emotional value of the Lunar New Year transcended national borders, turning it into a truly global festival.

This year marks both the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of China-UAE diplomatic ties. The Dubai Chinese New Year Parade, now in its fifth edition, has grown into the largest Chinese cultural celebration in the UAE—and for the first time, it was held under the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

As a major cultural and economic hub in the Middle East, the UAE has shown great admiration for Chinese culture. The Jingdezhen Official Ceramic Flagship Store was honored to be the only ceramics exhibitor at this prestigious event. This recognition further strengthens the influence of Chinese traditional culture in the UAE, fostering a deeper cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the people of China and the UAE.
